I have wide experience as a writer. I have worked as a newspaper reporter and have published articles on subjects ranging from auto racing to the ecological restoration of Walden Pond to the dance theater of India. My essays have appeared in Commonweal and other publications, and I have presented papers before the Chicago Seminar on Dance and Performance and the Society of Dance History Scholars, an international learned society. My plays, Three Beautiful Children (2005), Customer for Life (2006) and Small Things (2007), received full productions at the Around the Coyote Winter Arts Festival in Chicago; in 2007, my play, Not Once, received a workshop reading at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
My portfolio for dance and theater companies includes general interest magazine and newspaper articles, press releases, content for company web sites and e-blasts, appeal letters, advertising and marketing copy, and copy for performance programs. I have over ten years of experience as a proposal writer.
In high school, I was a recipient of a Level I Award for writing from the National Arts Recognition and Talent Search (YoungArts) and was also a Presidential Scholar in the Arts in Writing.
